0 m · the surface
A calm deep-sea collecting game for iPhone. You go down on a finite supply of oil, and you decide when to turn round.
60 m · the shelf
A dive starts with a full lamp, 120 oil. Each move burns some — DESCEND · 4 oil · 4 oil to return — so you always know what going on costs and what coming home will cost after it. The rare animals are deep, and deep costs more to climb out of.
The lamp turns amber well before the oil runs out, and when it does run out it names what you would lose. A blackout takes part of one dive's catch, never your Book.
Put the phone down mid-dive; nothing moves until you do. There is no clock anywhere in the game.
200 m · the twilight
Every animal you land rolls its own hue from the whole wheel and keeps it for ever. The Book lays your specimens along each species' color rail, so the colors you are still missing show as gaps — and a gap is a reason to go down again.
Forty-one species, each a painted plate. The drop odds are published in-app to the tenth of a percent, and your rig's effect is printed beside them.

Made for one hand, in portrait. Works with larger text; Reduce Motion is respected.

The game is in beta on TestFlight. If you would like to dive early and say what you find, leave an address — you will get an invite when the next round opens, and nothing else, ever.
